We make our mark on this world. We shape it, mold it, preserve it, amplify its natural beauty, bend it to our will, and harmonize with it. Whether you're an architect innovating ways to form relationships between man, nature and structure, an engineer translating from concept to buildable solution, or a contractor physically bringing paper proof of concept into reality, we provide value in each and every role of the process.
Through Aerial Imagery, we can provide a wealth of information. Imagine if you knew exactly what the view currently is at any elevation on the site and in any direction. Where will you place the kitchen window to overlook the yard, the family room to allow for the native oak to remain, the great window in the bath to capitalize on both privacy and view? What does that look like from the 2nd floor, 3rd floor, the balcony, or the roof terrace that does not even exist yet? What is existing that will obscure and what do you not want to see? What if you had 360º panoramic views from every proposed level of the home before you designed it? No not the google earth crap that you have had to deal with for years now, but actual high resolution photos of the current conditions that you can bring into your models and plansets for planning and rendering. We can do that. What about a true scale orthomosiac of the site (yes you can pull reliable dimensions off of it). We can do that. And the kicker....how about a 3d model of the site that you can virtually stand in or better yet, integrate into your Revit model and manipulate as necessary to communicate to your client (not to mention the planning department) exactly what is there, what will be there, and why it all works. So much better than story poles with the car dealership multicolored flags flapping in the wind don't you think?
engineers \ surveyors
Precise actionable data. You create it and depend on it. We are not surveyors nor are we engineers. We do not claim to provide L1/L2 grade data right out of the air and we aren't going to pretend that we can on our own. What we can provide is context and efficiency. The number one question we get is how accurate can we get? With our current equipment (as of July 4th, 2017 (Happy B-day America!!)) flying at an altitude to achieve a GSD of .5CM/Pixel, we would expect to obtain a relative accuracy of .5CM-1.5CM (1-3 times the average GSD). Sounds amazing right? It's also theoretical. Not even Nasa's scientific minds' theoretical numbers match their real life results, and we are not rocket surgeons. In reality, you can expect that when you measure a distance on the resulting and properly scaled ortho and you pull that measurement in the field, you will be in the same spot. Looking for more? Us too! Working in league with a surveyor that has set control points (as you would for any other aerial survey), we can provide the level of accuracy you need to be able to make design decisions quickly. When all is flown, converted, tied down and cross-referenced, a surveyor should be hitting around the 5cm mark or better in horizontal and 8cm or better in vertical when using our raw data...did we mention that would be absolute accuracy? So what does this mean as far as added value to the engineer or surveyor? When you need actionable ground data that is accurate for making the big design decisions, we can aquire that data faster than a ground crew ever will, and you don't have to wait for our schedule to fill up before we commit to leaving the ground.
How about inspections. Do you want to climb up and into some construction mock-up or let Bucket Boy Johnny bounce you around on the end of a boom to each connection? We can fly up there and take photos. Even better, how about a live stream from the camera in our drone, on the job site, to you in your office while you direct us to what you want to see next. Yes, we can do that.
So you get the opportunity to bid on a job and of course, it's due in a ridiculously short amount of time. You spend two or three days locating and looking at the plans, managing your business and crew, and try to schedule a time for you or someone you trust to get down to the job to identify the site conditions. On day four you do a quick search on google to check the site location and see what your going to run into when you get there, add some fluff for the "os" factor, and spend the night wondering if you caught it all. On the morning of day 5 you send it in, half hoping you don't get it because you don't fully know it. When was the last time Google was right for what you needed? (hint: google is only as accurate as its last satellite photo from 6, 12, 18 months ago...) If your lucky enough to be working with one of the architects or engineers that we are, then we already have the information you would need to get started on that bid. If you aren't working with one of the kick-ass architects or engineers that we are, than you are pretty much on your own for site recon. We can help you there. We recently flew a site that was just under 18 Acres in about 12 minutes. By the next day we had a scalable orthomap, an elevation map, a 3d model of the site, and a point cloud; all current as of that day. Know what your site looks like and how your going to stage it. Your contract pay out in stages? Do you love it as much as we do when the client is magically unavailable to come out and verify that you have completed the stage? Get photo verification, get paid. Site too muddy to effectively check if your BMP's are still in place and functioning? We'll fly it and you can move to mitigate on only the ones you have to like a ninja. Prove the trench has what it needs in it and in the right location before you bury it. Prove the forms are in the right spot before you pour. Use us at every stage to record your work in an orthomap and overlay your plans to back check yourself. At the end of the job, have us put it all together in a time-lapse and use it for marketing. The options are limitless!
